Interdisciplinary Studies Program
The Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies degree
replaced the BAILS degree in fall 2007 semester.
This degree provides a flexible
program which can be designed to meet individual needs.
This university-wide interdisciplinary degree provides a program of study
for students who would like to broaden their educational backgrounds, but not
necessarily prepare for specific careers through traditional career-oriented
degrees.
The Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies offers the student an opportunity to design a program of studies, in
consultation with an advisor, which will meet the educational needs of the
individual.
Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies was designed for those who...
- Want to develop their own specialized areas of study
- Will enter occupations that require a broad education
- Desire a bachelor's degree for career advancement
- Seek personal intellectual enrichment
- Are considering a pre-professional program for fields of medicine, dentistry, law, or veterinary medicine
A student may earn either a Bachelor of Arts or a
Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.
The Enterprise in Society Emphasis provides a basic business foundation.
This foundation, combined with the strong communication component of the
Interdisciplinary Studies
degree, provides a valued set of skills and competencies for careers in
business, government, and nonprofit organizations.
