Registration Policy for 300-400 Level Business Courses

The Business Preparation Program

Each student, including transfer students, admitted to The W. A. Franke College of Business will initially be permitted to enroll in only 100 and 200 level courses. The student will follow the Business Preparation program (freshman-sophomore) sequence of courses in completing the prescribed English, math and lower-division Business Core courses in preparation for the professional business program (junior-senior). Students will not be allowed to register for 300/400-level business courses until they have met the criteria listed below. (Exceptions to this policy are: CIS 310 and upper-division economics courses.)

 

The Business Professional Program Requirements

In general, the junior-senior years constitute the professional program of the undergraduate curriculum. The following standards are required for admission to the professional program and permission to take restricted upper division courses:

  1. Completion of at least 56 credit hours with a minimum    
    overall grade point average of 2.00
  2. Completion of ENG 101:102 or ENG 105, MAT 
    114:119, CIS 120, ACC 205, ACC 255:256, ECO 201, ECO 
    284:285, with a minimum overall grade point average for 
    these courses of 2.75 and a grade of "C" or better in each 
    of these courses.
  3. Completion of 6 Pathways activities

 

When To Apply For The Business Professional Program

Students should submit an application for the Professional Program and authorization to take restricted upper-division courses after Pathways Requirement is met and the drop/delete deadline (fourth week) of the semester in which they will be completing the above requirements.
