Executive Job Shadow Program
What is Job Shadowing?
Job shadowing is the opportunity for students to spend 2-3
days with a top level executive in their interest area.
This exposure allows students to witness the work environment and
potential career options firsthand.
Why Be a Shadow?
- Learn more about a certain career and determine if your career path is
the right one.
- Accompany successful business executives at their workplace.
- Obtain knowledge that comes only from being in the job setting.
- Have an opportunity to ask relevant questions.
- Link textbook knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom and apply
them directly to the real world of work.
Student Shadow Responsibilities:
- Dress appropriately.

Prepare for your site visit.
- Research your executive’s organization and write a summary paper before
your visit.
- Identify the mission of the organization.
- Arrive on time.
- Dress appropriately.
- Discuss your interests with your executive.
- Prepare a list of questions to ask your mentor and others you might
meet.
- Do not cancel.
Shadow Qualifications:
- 2.75 cumulative GPA.
- Acceptance into the Business Professional Program.
Undergraduates only—No MBA students.
- Interest in learning more about your chosen career field.
