Early Enrollment

Dates for Early Enrollment (PDF)

Each student should have received a dana e-mail giving the date and time of their enrollment appointment. For your specific date, consult your e-mail.

Remember, prerequisites will be automatically checked by the system when a student requests a class. Students who have not completed prerequisites will not be allowed to enroll in the specific course for which prerequisites are lacking. Students who have transferred in credits from another university may encounter some problems with the new process. If you are denied enrollment in a business course due to a prerequisite problem AND you took the prerequisite course at another university, please complete and submit the Record Correction and Course Request form available at the link listed below:

Business Override Form

Check your dana e-mail and your LOUIE schedule daily after you submit the request. If we have all the information we need, we will adjust your transcript to reflect the equivalent transfer hours (this may take several weeks) and add you to the requested class (this should happen within 24 hours.) If we need additional information we will contact you by e-mail.

If you are denied a course from another college, you will need to contact that specific college for information regarding the process for the prerequisite override.

Conditions for Full Class override requests:

If the course you are requesting is at capacity, you may use the online override form: (Business Override Form) to request a capacity override. Use the form only if both of the following conditions are met:

  • Your graduation will be delayed if you cannot complete the requested course in the upcoming semester. For example, you may need CIS 360 in fall of 2005 because you plan to graduate in spring of 2006 and will need to take MGT 490C in the spring.

    AND

  • There are no other open sections of the course you are requesting; or the only other open section conflicts with another course that you must have to graduate, and it is impossible to take the other course in another semester.

You should not request a capacity override if you do not meet both of the above conditions. Overrides that do not meet both conditions will not be granted, and slow the processing for students who have valid requests. If you do not meet the conditions listed above, please check LOUIE periodically. Open seats do become available as other students drop classes.

Course capacities are set to ensure the quality of the course. We need to reserve capacity overrides for students who have no alternative to achieve an on-time graduation.

Overrides into Web Courses:

The W. A. Franke College of Business provides both the major in management and BAiLs Enterprise in Society degree to statewide students. The web courses offered for these programs are the only option for statewide students to take some required courses. In some cases these required courses are offered on the web only once each year, so a statewide student who does not get into the course would have to wait a full year for another opportunity. We are constrained by resource and quality issues as to the number of web courses we offer and the capacity of the web courses. Accordingly, we must reserve all of the seats in most web courses to statewide students. Exceptions to this policy will be made on an extremely limited basis through the override process. A conflict with work hours, in and of itself, will not be considered adequate justification to add a Flagstaff campus student to a web section. Some web courses will be open to Flagstaff campus students during the summer session. Please check with your faculty advisor or consult the list outside the Dean’s office for a list of those courses.
