NATIVE AMERICAN BUSINESS ORGANIZATION (NABO)
Established in the 1980s, the NABO is a student club open to all NAU students and serves as a support for students with similar cultural and academic backgrounds.  The NABO encourages student participation in a wide range of activities, such as organizing business panel presentations composed of Native American business owners and leaders, coordinating fundraising activities, and volunteering to assist local community organizations and being active in litter pick-up along NABO's Adopt-A-Highway strip on north Hwy. 89.  Many former NABO members hold key position with various tribal nations and they credit NABO with improving personal skills such as public speaking, organization of events, and communicating effectively with fellow co-workers.  The NABO also attends national conferences such as the Reservation Economic Summit and is currently working on being affiliated with the American Indian Business Leaders (AIBL), a national organization that promotes the well being of Indigenous people.
