The Northern Arizona University Foundation

The Northern Arizona University Foundation is dedicated to promoting Northern Arizona University's mission, enhancing its recognition, and creating and stewarding meaningful relationships that foster private investment in the university.

Founded in 1959, the NAU Foundation exists for the sole purpose of supporting the university. The foundation operates under a 501c(3) status and is managed by a board of directors which is composed of distinguished business, professional and civic leaders who serve the NAU Foundation on a voluntary basis. The NAU Foundation is recognized by the university as its official philanthropic organization giving it authority for gift development, receipt, administration and management.

The foundation’s strategy is to provide leadership for meaningful initiatives that build a broad base of constituents, long-term loyalty and financial support from students, alumni, colleagues, corporations, foundations and other organizations.

The foundation has assets under management of $61.5 million (as of March 31, 2007) of which $48.3 million is endowed.
