Native American Stimulus Package - Rountable Discussion

The current economic times are trying on all of us. And now on top of the fear and frustration surrounding the unknown there is confusion about what the Federal Government is trying to do to help. For example, part of that Native American stimulus package includes four provisions that expand the authority of Indian tribal governments to issue tax-exempt or tax credit bonds:

1) tribal economic development bonds
2) qualified school construction bonds
3) clean renewable energy bonds
4) qualified energy conservation bonds

In the hopes of answering some of the most frequently asked questions regarding the stimulus plan, LEO A DALY and the NAU Center for American Indian Economic Development are hosting a round table discussion focused specifically on the Native American Stimulus package. We will be addressing where the funds have been allocated and how to navigate through the system to successfully utilize these funds to create growth and opportunity in Indian Country. We will bring in experts in Federal funding as well as individuals/ Tribal representatives that have facilitated growth in their communities utilizing stimulus-like dollars.

Included in this correspondence is a personal invitation to attend this important educational event being held on Tuesday, April 21st. There is no charge for this round table discussion and lunch will be provided. We do ask that you come prepared with questions and prepared to share in the discussions regarding projects that you have done using Federal dollars and projects that you hope to do utilizing the stimulus funds.

Please mark your calendars and RSVP as quickly as possible as there is limited seating available.
