The Cocopah Indian Reservation is located approximately 13 miles south of Yuma and near Somerton in Yuma County, Arizona.  It is only five miles north of San Luis, Mexico.  The reservation is divided into three parcels: East, West, and North Cocopah.  The tribal administration office is located on West Cocopah.

The Reservation and surrounding area are comprised of low lying desert land with the Colorado River on North Cocopah’s boundaries.  Privately owned farms surround the three parcels.

The Cocopah Tribal Museum and Culture Center is located on the western portion of the reservation; visitors can learn about the history, traditions, and culture of the Cocopah Tribe through the museum's displays, arts and crafts, and literature.  The Arizona Office of Tourism notes: “The Cocopah Museum and Cultural Center includes an indoor Exhibit Room with Tribal Exhibits displaying the cultural life ways of the tribe in daily activities and historic settings. The museum also maintains a non-circulating library of Cocopah information.

An outdoor Heritage Park features many indigenous plants and trees that Cocopah people used for ceremonies and daily subsistence.  Two ports of entry offer access to Mexico for shopping.” (Arizona Office of Tourism, Native American Nations, Cocopah Tribe)

The museum is open Monday through Friday. For directions to the museum and other information, contact:
