Financial Aid

Northern Arizona University Office of Student Financial Aid website: http://www4.nau.edu

A limited number of graduate assistantships (GAs) are available on a competitive basis to admitted MBA students with a demonstrated record of excellence both in the classroom and in the workplace.  GA’s are ten hour per week paid positions assisting faculty members with various tasks.  A waiver of non-resident tuition accompanies each assistantship so non-residents will pay resident tuition costs.

Other types of graduate assistantships are occasionally available for students to work in various university offices and programs or as residence hall directors. Stipends vary with the duties and time requirements associated with the assistantship; a waiver of out-of-state tuition accompanies each assistantship. Check the Financial Aid, Residence Life, and Graduate College websites for more information regarding GA’s outside the MBA Program.

A limited number of scholarships in the form of tuition waivers are available each year as well; these generally require no specific work from the student and are allocated on a university-wide competitive basis. For information on federal work-study, loans, need-based financial aid, and part-time employment, contact the Office of Student Financial Aid.

The MBA Program also offers general and private donor scholarships. Applications for these scholarships will be available early in the Summer II semester for admitted students only. Due dates for applications and scholarship amounts are subject to change each year. Students are notified of the application by e-mail.

Scholarships and graduate assistantships are available in the Fall and Spring semesters only so it is necessary to secure your own financing for the Summer semester. There are no financial benefits available to waive the $5,000 fee.
